Once again, France came to Bronte School in Gravesend on 22^nd February. Cyrille and Martin joined the children of all ages – 4 to 11 – for a day of Pure French Living. They all spoke French to each other whilst enjoying such delights as making Crêpes (pancakes) – and eating them … discussing the ingredients … drawing and painting famous French scenes … playing board games … playing French computer games … and watching a funny film called Chez Mimi.

At the end of the day, Cyrille pronounced himself very impressed with the Bronte children’s spoken French and their excellent behaviour. “Quelle excellente journée à Bronte School! Bravo les enfants! What a fantastic day I spent today at your school. Children were on their best behaviour and most of all they spoke so much French with me and the others. Their ability to perform and use their language skills was brilliant. Merci beaucoup et à bientôt.”

Finally, a quote from one of the children:

‘Can we have a French week next time please, Madame?’

And indeed, 25 children will be staying at a Château in France in the week before half-term… and next week we are going to ‘Bonjour les Enfants’ at the Southbank.
