Kindergarten at Bronte aims to provide a learning environment where staff, children and parents work together to create a safe and secure learning atmosphere, where children feel valued and respected.

We follow the Framework of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) which supports a play based approach to learning.
Children learn best when they have the confidence, skills and desire to think for themselves, to solve problems, to work with others, including adults and peers, to listen and communicate effectively and gain an increasing understanding of the world and how it works.

We put your child at the centre of everything that we do and children are given opportunities to follow activities that interest them, as well as learning through adult led sessions on a daily basis.

To develop and refine children’s gross and fine motor skills your child will participate in daily activities, Dough Gym, Funky Fingers and Write Dance, which all help children to strengthen the muscles needed, initially for mark making then progressing to writing.

Your child will experience a varied array of activities which include, Jo Jingles music sessions, Forest School visits in the Summer term, a mobile farm visit to school, Fire engine visit, French Day, Red Nose Day and many more.
Before School care is available from 7.30am as well as After School care from 3.30 to 5.45pm where a member of the Early Years Team is always on duty.

Kindergarten regularly visit the Reception classroom, interacting, playing and getting to know the staff and children. This interaction will ease transition into Reception year as children are already familiar with the staff and environment in the next part of their learning journey.

Our aim is to help your child to develop independence, confidence, resilience, curiosity and a can do attitude towards their learning, we feel that this is encouraged and achieved by attentive, well trained staff who interact, respond and extend your child’s opportunities towards developing a lifelong love of learning.
